UPND Intensifies Campaigns in Kawambwa Ahead of December 20th Parliamentary By-Election

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has escalated its campaign activities in Kawambwa Constituency as the countdown to the December 20th parliamentary by-election continues. Through a combination of door-to-door mobilization and public rallies, the party is making a determined push to secure a decisive victory.

Campaign Momentum Gathers Pace

Yesterday, a high-profile team comprising UPND parliamentary candidate Nason Musonda and Andrew Wiza Sindaza, joined by four government ministers, engaged in a series of strategic voter outreach activities. The engagements ranged from personal interactions to vibrant rallies aimed at strengthening the party’s foothold in the constituency.

Speaking to the electorate, Andrew Wiza Sindaza emphasized the critical importance of voting for the UPND candidate. He called on residents to trust in the party’s vision, assuring them of continued progress under President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration.

“We are committed to addressing the needs of Kawambwa residents and ensuring that development reaches every corner of this constituency. A vote for Nason Musonda is a vote for progress and inclusivity,” said Sindaza.

Defections Bolster UPND’s Position

A significant boost to the UPND campaign came with the recent defection of Ivo Mpasa, a former Socialist Party council chairperson candidate. Mpasa publicly declared his support for the UPND, citing the government’s achievements in governance and its commitment to fostering social and economic growth.

Addressing the electorate, Mpasa criticized opposition parties for their lack of direction and urged voters to rally behind the UPND.

“I have seen firsthand the transformative impact of President Hichilema’s leadership. The UPND is the only party with a clear vision for Kawambwa and Zambia as a whole,” Mpasa stated.

Mpasa’s defection has energized the UPND campaign, drawing attention to the party’s appeal and its alignment with the aspirations of the people in the northern region.

Ministerial Support Amplifies Campaign Efforts

The UPND’s campaign in Kawambwa has been further bolstered by the presence of senior government officials. Prominent ministers, including Elvis Nkandu (Youth, Sport, and Arts), Elias Mubanga (Small and Medium Enterprises Development), Njavwa Simutowe (Luapula Province Minister), and Peter Kapala (Energy), joined the campaign activities to emphasize the government’s focus on development.

Their participation underscored the UPND’s commitment to addressing critical issues in Kawambwa, such as infrastructure development, job creation, and improved service delivery.

Speaking at one of the rallies, Minister Kapala said, “The people of Kawambwa deserve leaders who are committed to transforming their lives. The UPND government has already laid a strong foundation for progress, and we need your support to continue on this path.”

Coordinated Media Outreach

The UPND Media Team has been instrumental in spreading the party’s message and rallying voter support. Utilizing a robust media strategy that combines social media platforms, radio programs, and community engagements, the team has ensured that the electorate is well-informed about the party’s agenda.

“Our goal is to ensure that every voter understands the importance of this election and the transformative role that the UPND can play in Kawambwa,” said a UPND Media spokesperson.

Focus on Development and Governance

Throughout the campaign, the UPND has centered its message on tangible achievements and a vision for a prosperous future. Key priorities highlighted by the party include:

  1. Improved Infrastructure – Upgrading roads, schools, and healthcare facilities to enhance accessibility and quality of life.
  2. Agricultural Development – Providing support to farmers through subsidies, improved farming methods, and access to markets.
  3. Economic Empowerment – Promoting small and medium enterprises and creating job opportunities for the youth.
  4. Social Services – Strengthening healthcare and education systems to benefit the community.

Call to Action

With the December 20th by-election fast approaching, the UPND is leaving no stone unturned in its quest for victory. The party’s strategic approach, bolstered by ministerial involvement, high-profile endorsements, and a focus on development, has positioned it as a strong contender in Kawambwa.

Residents of Kawambwa have been urged to seize the opportunity to vote for progress by electing Nason Musonda as their parliamentary representative.

“This election is a defining moment for Kawambwa. Let us choose a path of growth, unity, and development under the UPND,” said Sindaza.

As the campaigns intensify, all eyes are on Kawambwa to see whether the UPND’s efforts will translate into electoral success.
